Decision Making
First, the whole class went crazy. There are many ways I will personally use to handle the chaos during the class decision making exercise. I will listen to what every one has to say, and then come out hard and hit them with my ideas. I think it is better this way because I know what everyone really wants when I listen to them first. I choose this method because I think it works the best in a huge group of people. Everyone should have their own time expressing what they want, but when people start yelling, it is out of control. When someone is talking, you have to respect them and be quiet, wait until your time to speak. There is no way it is going to work if everyone is out of control, yelling and cursing at each other. How can you build up your country if your people in the country are fighting or having a war? At the time, I think it’s better for some people to leave and some people to stay, because we all know that we not going to get another done at that time. We listen to half of the class first, then the other half. We will get a better desirable result that way. Everyone will have time to say what they want, and they won’t feel that much pressure as 100 people listening to them. Good that we have a nice prof, and I think he did this purposely. Thank you…

Of course the proffessor did this on purpose. He basically tested our management skills. How we managed time? How we managed so many people? We finally came up with a workable proposal that everyone was happy with so in a way we succeeded. But we could have succeeded in a much pleasant way. And honestly we should all be glad that the professor gave us this excercise because there's a lot we should learn from it.
It was sad to hear that some people responded to others' opinions in a rude way, directly saying, "...stupid." That is because an idea might not sound reasonable to some, but it could be very important to others. I agree with your opinion that we should have listened to every single person with respect, so that everyone had a chance to express what he or she really wanted. That was what we needed, however, I wonder if we could have handled to get 100% agreement in such a limited time by using that method. I think that is why it is not easy to choose the right way to make a group decision depending on situations.
